Professional Biography

Scott Meurets career in education and hospitality, includes work in restaurants, resorts, and hotels.  He learned the hospitality industry from the ground up working in management for organizations such as Holiday Inn, Hilton, and Sheraton where he oversaw the creation and implementation of training programs including management development, new hire orientation, customer service training, and diversity initiatives.

Mr. Meurets work education includes teaching and administration and the secondary and post-secondary level.  He has been involved with career and technical education for more than 20 years. He is a licensed School Superintendent, Principal and 7-12 teacher.  

As an educator he brings his passion for teaching at every level.  Meurets’ teaching accolades at the secondary and post-secondary level include, University of Kentucky Ken Freedman Outstanding Faculty Advisor nominee, University of Kentucky Top 25 Teaching Award, WTCS New Teacher of the Year Award Nominee, WTCS 6X Star Faculty Award Nominee and High School Outstanding Teacher Award, and KACTE-Post-secondary Teacher of the Year nominee.

Mr. Meuret has enjoyed being active in the education community serving locally, regionally, and internationally as Board President for the Walworth Visitor Bureaus, Worlds Educator Organization Board Member, Advisory Board Member for the Milwaukee Technical College Food Science & Technology Program, Bluegrass Hospitality Association Board of Directors. Mr. Meuret has also served as consultant for the Downtown Development Corporation and the African TVET National Certificate Vocational (NCV) courses in the Hospitality and Tourism.
