About the RTM Club

The Retailing, Tourism, and Management Club is a student-run organization on University of Kentucky’s campus that helps to expose students to many aspects of the Merchandising and Hospitality industries. Our club is centered on networking opportunities, artistic abilities, and real-life experiences.

The club was reorganized from the previous MAT and HMA Clubs and is for for MAT and HMT majors, though any UK student may join. RTM Club provides excellent opportunities for members to participate in store visits, fundraising, field trips and community service projects. MAT and HMT majors can advance their professional career by networking with peers, alumni, and business leaders in our community and surrounding areas during monthly events.

To join the RTM Club, students must pay dues, join a professional organization, and participate in club meetings and activities. The club meets from September through April. Contact Scott Meuret, RTM Club Advisor or a club officer (see list below) for more information or to join.

The 2015 - 2016 service project for the RTM Club was "Blue Jeans Go Green", or the denim drive, which ran through October 31st. Denim was collected in bins around campus and in the community. RTM students counted and folded the denim and sent it on to be processed into insulation for Habitat For Humanity homes. This project keeps denim out of landfills and keeps homes warm.
